Esta pesquisa é parte de uma investigação sobre o Ser da Moda. A ontologia da Moda se define na relação com um corpo vestido ou adornado; por conseguinte, face a um corpo sem vestes ou vestes sem corpos. Nesta relação ontológica com o Ser da Moda, o foco principal será o artefato vestível como elemento fundante de um ser social vestido. Durante a investigação nos deparamos com a obra Sartor Resartus, escrita em 1834 por Thomas Carlyle, por se tratar de um romance existencial baseado na filosofia das roupas. Ainda que o autor ironize a questão, seu objetivo não é um ataque à moda, mas trazer a ideia de uma sociedade que se baseia na roupa.
