RESUMO  Este trabalho se centra na pesquisa de doutorado que investiga a visao e a filosofia da pratica de ensino da danca da artista-pedagoga argentina Maria Fux. A partir de um aporte de investigacao etnografica, adicionado aos dez anos de experiencia e de convivio proximo com Maria Fux e sua pratica, resultam desta investigacao, os valores que caracterizam sua forma de ensino somato-integrativo de movimento, assim como a relacao com o corpo. A filosofia elaborada por Fux tem caracteristicas peculiares de uma relacao com a arte colocada no contexto da vida das pessoas. Sua abordagem de trabalho dialoga diretamente com aspectos da Educacao Somatica, um vasto campo de estudo que concebe o corpo e o movimento como integradores do ser, bem como a capacidade de aumentar a abrangencia do movimento corporal. Como pesquisa em andamento, esta visa pontuar semelhancas entre a abordagem fuxiana de ensino da danca, criada em um contexto latino, e suas aproximacoes com o paradigma somatico.
