Cet article présente une approche interculturelle de l’appréciation de l’art, inspirée du modèle d’Anderson, que nous avons expérimentée dans un contexte de formation initiale et continue d’enseignantes et d’enseignants d’art. L’intégration de la dimension interculturelle en enseignement des arts constitue une problématique émergente au Québec, où de nouvelles avenues, prenant en compte les spécificités de la discipline artistique et les changements au niveau des populations scolaires, doivent être explorées. Contribuant à enrichir le domaine de l’enseignement des arts, le présent article propose une approche novatrice qui se veut un croisement fructueux entre l’éducation interculturelle et l’appréciation des pratiques d’art actuel. Cette approche, qui permet en outre d’entamer un dialogue interculturel en classe d’arts plastiques, représente un enrichissement tant pour les élèves que pour les enseignantes et enseignants qui sont appelés à saisir de façon pratique certains enjeux culturels et sociaux propres au monde pluraliste dans lequel nous vivons.
