Le Livre des Marchans d'Antoine Marcourt constitue le premier d'une longue serie de textes pararabelaisiens qui constituent, entre imitation, parodie et pastiche, autant de jalons de la reception de Rabelais au XVIe siecle, etudies par Marcel de Greve en son temps (1). Ce gout pour l'ecriture a la maniere de Rabelais deviendra si marque dans la seconde moitie du siecle qu'Etienne Pasquier, dans une lettre de 1555 a Ronsard, se croira oblige de denoncer ce qu'il percoit comme le naturel servile des Francais, dont les singes de Rabelais, en l'occurrence Noel du Fail et Guillaume des Autels, sont symptomatiques :[...]
