Aspek spasial (wilayah) penting dikaji karena pada dasarnya kejadian penyakit merupakan fenomena spasial dengan karakteristik, seperti keberadaan habitat, ketinggian permukaan tanah (topografi), kepadatan penduduk, dan kondisi iklim semuanya merupakan variabel penting yang menentukan kejadian penyakit, terutama penyakit akibat vector seperti malaria. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola kecenderungan spasial penyakit malaria berdasarkan keberadaan habitat larva Anopheles, iklim (curah hujan dan hari hujan), topografi (ketinggian wilayah), dan demografi (kepadatan penduduk) beserta korelasinya dengan kejadian malaria. Penelitian menggunakan jenis desain studi ekologi yakni exploratory studies dan berlokasi di wilayah daratan utama Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar (6 Kecamatan) memanfaatkan data sekunder tahun 2011-2013 serta data hasil observasi lapangan. Data dianalisis secara spasial dalam bentuk peta tematik (peta overlay) dan analisis statistik dengan uji korelasi Spearman-rho dan uji korelasi Gamma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kecenderungan spasial kejadian malaria dengan pola berkerumun, mengumpul pada wilayah tertentu yang banyak terdapat habitat larva dengan curah hujan rendah (>50 mm) dan hujan<10 hari/bulan, terkosentrasi di wilayah dataran rendah dan dekat dengan garis pantai (>100 mdpl) dengan kepadatan penduduk kurang padat (51-250 Jiwa/Km2). Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan tidak ada korelasi bermakna curah hujan, hari hujan, dan kepadatan penduduk, sedangkan korelasi keberadaan habitat dan dengan kejadian malaria berkorelasi positif (p=0.042<0.05, r=0.829) dan ketinggian wilayah berkorelasi negatif (0.018 < 0.05, r= - 0.580). Perlu perbaikan registrasi penderita malaria, rutin melakukan survey entomologi dan melakukkan survey migrasi untuk mengantisipasi penularan kasus impor menjadi kasus lokal.
