O artigo trata da falta de representacao de indigenas no Congresso Nacional, abordando a necessidade de suscitar a discussao e ao mesmo tempo dando enfase a autonomia politica dos povos originarios por meio de suas organizacoes politicas. Traz exemplos do reconhecimento de autonomia dos povos indigenas que estao presentes em paises como Canada e Nova Zelandia, bem como um breve relato sobre os paises da America Latina que adotam uma Constituicao Plurietnica. Demostra que a participacao politica e uma demanda do Movimento Indigena, algo que surge da necessidade de protecao diante das ameacas da retirada de direitos. Ressalta a importancia de discussao sobre representatividade indigena e a necessidade de implantacao de uma democracia plena e satisfatoria que inclua diversidade cultural e politica presente no Brasil.
