Abstract The compounds LnZn 3 As 3 (Ln: La—Nd, Sm) with polymorphic modifications different from the previously known forms and the corresponding compounds LnCd 3 As 3 (Ln: La—Pr) are prepared from the elements (800 °C, 7 d) and characterized by powder and single crystal XRD, electrical resistivity and magnetic measurements, and TB‐LMTO computations.
