Abstract
The minimum curriculum of the state of Rio de Janeiro presents all the basic skills and abilities that must be contained in the course plans and classes, guiding in a clear and objective way the items that can not be lacking in the teaching-learning process in each discipline, year of schooling and bimester. According to this document, the teaching of modern physics begins in the 4th quarter of the 2nd year, where the topics covered are nuclear energy, nuclear power plant and nuclear reactions. This new phase of Physics teaching has given the opportunity for the authors to face a new challenge, which consists in the elaboration of materials that help to insert new contents within an already limited time of lesson without losing anything. This was one of the motivations for choosing this monograph project, which consists of the elaboration of a didactic study on the study of radiation.
