Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Introduction: All of us have different ways of reacting in the face of adversities in our day to day life. Alexithymia as a difficulty in expressing emotions, can actually affect social and psychological life and as a consequence, it can also have an impact in the eating behavior. Objetives: 1) study the relation between alexithymia, eating behavior, psychopathology and emotional schema; 2) analyze the diferences between variables in function of presence versus abscence of alexithymia; 3) study the associations between the presence/absence of alexithymia and some sociodemographic variables (age, gender, literacy, weight). Methodology: The total sample was divided in two groups, using the cut off point of the TAS- 20: group as a presence of alexithymia, composed of 39 individuals, 14 males (35,9%) and 25 females (64.1.%); and group as a absence of alexithymia, composed of 71 individuals, 35 males (49,35) and 36 females (50,7%). The participants answered an online google docs composed by: Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20), Emotional Schema Scale de Leahy (LESS), Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) e Teste de Atitudes Alimentares (TAA-25). Results: Some significant and positive associations between the presence of psychopathological symptomatology (BSI) and eating behaviors (TAA-25) were found. Concerning emotions, it was verified a negative relationship between negative beliefs and bulimic behaviors, diet and social pressure to eat. Regarding the association between eating behaviors and alexithymia, we can highlight the positive association between bulimic behavior and difficulty in identifying and describing feelings and between social pressure to eat and the difficulty in describing feelings. Discussion and conclusion: The results of this study proved that alexithymia, emotional schemes, pathological symptoms and eating behaviors are related to each other. It was also proved that the subjects with alexithymia demonstrate the presence of bulimic behaviors and feel more pressure to eat compared with the subjects without alexithymia. This results should be taken into account in the area of mental health and when we think about the elaboration of prevention programs in this area.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
