Abstract
Cet article s’intéresse à la négociation des rapports de pouvoir entre la prostituée et le client dans le romanPutain(2001) de Nelly Arcan. Si le client exerce une violence sur le corps et la subjectivité de la prostituée pour lui imposer une position d’infériorité dans l’échange sexuel, ce rapport de places est cependant contesté sur la scène d’énonciation. À partir d’une analyse discursive, notre article vise à montrer que la réappropriation de la violence dans l’énonciation permet à la narratrice d’inverser les rapports de domination représentés, sans toutefois déconstruire la logique qui les sous-tend. Cela participe à l’ambivalence constitutive de l’oeuvre.
