Abstract
La presente investigación compara los factores que favorecen u obstaculizan el desarrollo laboral de mujeres de la región de Quebec (Canadá) y el estado de Jalisco (México), a través de un enfoque cualitativo. Las entrevistas a profundidad hicieron posible identificar los efectos e interacciones de diversos factores en tres niveles de análisis: nacional, organizacional e individual. Se discuten las diferencias encontradas en relación con las estrategias de balance trabajo-familia impulsadas por las políticas gubernamentales propias de cada región y las similitudes en los aspectos organizacionales que favorecen la progresión de carrera de las mujeres.
