Abstract
Cet article propose d’étudier les processus et stratégies liés à la fusion de deux régions françaises (Languedoc-Roussillon et Midi-Pyrénées) et à la construction de la nouvelle région (Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée) qui en est issue. Il se centre sur les élus régionaux et les services administratifs qui ont été confrontés au premier chef aux multiples défis organisationnels et politiques de cette recomposition territoriale. La nouvelle présidente de région a cherché à y répondre de plusieurs manières : par une réorganisation des structures et des pratiques, par le lancement d’un certain nombre de politiques, par la fondation d’une « Assemblée des Territoires » et par une stratégie visant à valoriser les élus de la nouvelle région.
