Abstract
The political dimension of Social Work is present in the anchor references of the profession, in particular in its global definition. Even so, the understanding of Social Work as having a political dimension is neither linear nor free of debate, with a general view that most social workers are not aware of this political dimension inherent in the profession. This paper intends to contribute to the reflection on the role of Social Work in the articulation between professional intervention and national policies and to problematize the political dimension of the profession.
