Abstract
This chapter focuses on filmic visions of the border between the United States and Canada and on what happens along it. It situates the corpus as part of the border genre, which characterizes itself mainly by the construction of stereotypes (us and them) and by a series of topics such as violence, crime, trafficking of forbidden substances, guns, and human beings. To provide a general panorama of the Canadian border films, this chapter analyzes them from these perspectives: borders that are crossed, borders that are lived, and symbolic borders.
