L'article decrit comment une bibliotheque traditionnelle, celle du centre de ressources d'information de Bell Canada, s'est progressivement transformee en bibliotheque virtuelle. A partir de la creation de son site web en 1997, elle a procede a une serie de transformations dans tous les domaines : espace, personnel, services, collections, budget et environnement de travail. L'A. decrit les difficultes creees par la transition et donne quelques conseils relatifs a la conception du site web, a la suppression des collections imprimees, a la gestion du personnel et des competences dans le nouvel environnement, tout en soulignant l'importance d'une bonne communication avec les clients pour la reussite du projet.
