Abstract
En su obra novelística, el autor peruano Manuel Scorza hace uso de la fantasía y el mito para representar los conflictos entre los campesinos de los Andes peruanos, y los terratenientes, empresas mineras y autoridades. Como uno de sus recursos narrativos, el escritor reviste de características sobrenaturales a sus protagonistas, y abre un espacio onírico en que resulta posible concebir la posibilidad de derrota de los opresores, espacio que es clausurado violentamente por los desenlaces trágicos que culminan en la masacre de los campesinos. Además de inscribirse en un espacio textual onírico, los dones sobrenaturales metaforizan la esperanza de un pueblo, y permiten apreciar la dimensión alegórica de los personajes centrales.
