Abstract
The lifestyle is the set of habits that a person develops can be healthy, and other harmful. Population aging is one of the phenomena of greatest impact in our time, which must take into account the nutritional status that is affected by bad habits maintained during life that cause a health problem. The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between the lifestyle and the nutritional status of elderly people at the Venezuela health center. The type of study is descriptive and cross-sectional. The technique used for the data collection is the survey, type scale style test, to assess the nutritional status according to the body mass index (BMI) that is obtained by the relation weight and height. From the 121 older adults surveyed, it was found that most of them are between 65-69 years old, which more than half are female, most have a basic education level and live with their family, half of older adults practice unhealthy lifestyle and the other half, healthy, regarding nutritional status, it was evident that less than half is overweight, less than a quarter has a normal nutritional status and a low percentage obesity type I , through the results obtained it is concluded that there is no relationship between lifestyle and the nutritional status of elderly people.
