Abstract
Cet article analyse quelques phénomènes linguistiques impliqués dans la représentation de la différence dans la production littéraire subsaharienne. On s’intéresse à la forme romanesque sous l’aspect de l’énonciation et de l’énoncé, en focalisant l’attention sur les manifestations reliées au processus d’altérisation du français, caractéristiques de cette littérature. Suit une étude de cas spécifique : L’État honteux de Sony Labou Tansi, dont nous connaissons la version précédente, retrouvée après la mort prématurée de l’écrivain en 1995. On met en évidence ses choix pour en arriver à la version publiée : pour représenter la différence linguistique, l’écrivain puise dans les ressorts de l’énonciation et de la relexification, symboliquement révélateurs de la différence au sens anthropologique.
