Yaoundé est l’une des principales villes du Cameroun. Dans les années 1990, la crise économique a frappé le pays et les Programmes d’ajustement structurel ont présidé au désengagement de l’État dans la planification urbaine. Dès lors, se sont développés, une urbanisation non contrôlée et un paysage urbain atypique. Depuis les années 2010, l’État à travers le ministère du Développement urbain et de l’Habitat et la Communauté urbaine de Yaoundé a entrepris un processus de restructuration urbaine à Yaoundé suivant les Schémas directeurs d’aménagement urbain de 1982 et le Plan directeur d’urbanisme de 2008. Cette restructuration induit une recomposition du paysage urbain dont les perceptions, individuelle et collective, trahissent différentes sensibilités. Cette étude analyse les dimensions sensorielles du paysage résultant de la restructuration urbaine à Yaoundé. L’approche géographique et sociologique intègre : l’exploitation documentaire, les enquêtes de terrain, les prises de vue et la cartographie du paysage urbain. Il se révèle que la restructuration urbaine en cours à Yaoundé modifie l’environnement urbain. Le paysage qui en résulte s’appréhende à partir des logiques individuelles, collectives et sociales, selon le sens privilégié par les acteurs.
