Abstract
This paper focuses on the definitions multiculturalism and interculturalism at constitutional level and on the differences between the two concepts. In particular, it takes into consideration the “rise and fall” of multiculturalism and the need for new definitions, to provide an understanding of the relation between cultural pluralism and legal systems. Finally, it takes into consideration the concept of accommodation and some cases concerning the wearing of Kirpan, which occurred in Italy and in Canada.
