Abstract
Hasta ahora, se ha considerado que la crítica y el rechazo de Juan Benet hacia la obra galdosiana y hacia gran parte del realismo, naturalismo y costumbrismo decimonónicos se traducía simplemente en un intento de crear un sistema completamente opuesto al de aquellos. Aquí se va a demostrar cómo, por el contrario, esos movimientos literarios son intertextos en su obra. Desde sus incompletas e incoherentes bases ideológicas, que son las de la percepción y las de la intelección comunes a los seres humanos, Benet irá en imposible búsqueda de un modo superior y más profundo de representación de la realidad.
