Abstract
Situé dans un des hauts lieux de la mémoire nationale, l’Hôtel national des Invalides, le musée de l’Armée est un établissement public administratif du ministère de la Défense dont les missions sont tout autant scientifiques que « citoyennes », et qui doit donc transmettre non seulement un patrimoine mais aussi des éléments de la mémoire et des valeurs nationales. Pour cela, il s’est engagé dans un ambitieux programme de redéploiement de ses collections et de réhabilitation de ses espaces d’exposition qui a conduit ses équipes scientifiques à concevoir une muséographie tout à la fois adaptée à l’unicité du lieu, construite à partir et autour de ses collections patrimoniales, et soutenue par tout un panel de moyens modernes de médiation.
