O escrito apresenta pontos essenciais da proposta sociológica desenvolvida por Bernard Lahire, vis-à-vis sua crítica à teoria bourdieusiana do habitus. Para cumprir tal engenho são recuperados pontos-chave de algumas reflexões de Pierre Bourdieu para, em seguida, passar-se à explicitação de críticas empreendidas por Lahire. Logo depois, adentrar-se-á na proposta de uma “sociologia à escala individual”, onde a noção de “ator plural” constitui-se como fundamental. Uma análise da obra de Lahire “Tableaux de famillesHeurs e malheurs scolaires en milieux populaires” é empreendida por apostar que nela estão evidenciadas, através de consistente pesquisa empírica realizada pelo autor, as principais noções de sua sociologia discutidas na seção anterior. Por fim, alguns trabalhos brasileiros são trazidos para brevemente dialogar com conceitos anteriormente abordados e apontar possíveis limites da sociologia de Lahire.
