Abstract
Cet article porte sur les efforts de mise en musique et d’interprétation vocale d’extraits du Verfügbar aux Enfers déployés par notre équipe dans le but d’alimenter notre réflexion et nos objectifs de recherche. Nous y exposons différentes décisions qui ont été prises au cours du processus de travail, puis mises en application dans divers contextes de performance. Dans un premier temps, nous soulevons des réflexions plus générales qui se sont imposées en amont des tentatives de mise en musique du manuscrit : il est ainsi question de la légitimité même d’une interprétation de cette opérette-revue, ainsi que du caractère ambivalent de cette démarche, située quelque part entre création et reconstitution. Dans un second temps, nous plongeons directement dans le matériau musical afin d’aborder certains des dilemmes auxquels nous avons été confrontées au contact des différents numéros. Ainsi, les enjeux traités ici sont à la fois d’ordre éthique et méthodologique.
