Abstract
Les propos recueillis auprès du compositeur montréalais Michel Gonneville (né en 1950) pour constituer ce texte sous forme d’entretien proviennent d’une correspondance ayant eu cours durant l’automne 2018 et visent à offrir quelques perspectives sur les principaux axes d’origine et de développement de l’aspect microtonal dans la démarche du compositeur. Dans le contexte d’un langage musical déjà empreint de sérialisme et de thématisme, Gonneville aborde la microtonalité tantôt de manière coloriste, tantôt de manière structurelle, incluant l’intégration d’éléments spectraux doublée d’une recherche sur l’intonation juste et l’exploration de la rencontre de ces univers non tempérés avec les tempéraments égaux en demi-, quarts ou seizièmes de tons.
