RÉSUMÉ Cet article propose une synthèse des jalons principaux de l’histoire du développement de la presse francophone en Amérique du Nord (Canada, États-Unis), des origines au XVIIIe siècle jusqu’au seuil du XXe siècle. Certaines zones sont particulièrement considérées, comme le Québec, la Louisiane et la côte Est des États-Unis (New York).
