Abstract
L’objectif de cette recherche est d’étudier le lien entre le développement de la motricité globale et celui de la compréhension des émotions chez les enfants de deux ans. Ces deux compétences étroitement liées au développement social ont jusqu’à présent été étudiées séparément. Afin de répondre à cet objectif, une échelle de motricité globale évaluant l’adresse des mouvements, la qualité et la rapidité des déplacements; et le Test of Emotion Comprehension évaluant la reconnaissance des émotions primaires et la compréhension de l’impact de causes externes sur ces émotions ont été administrés à 47 enfants de deux ans en passation individuelle. Les résultats obtenus diffèrent selon le sexe des enfants : 1) la compréhension de l’impact des causes externes sur les émotions des garçons est liée négativement à la qualité de leurs déplacements; 2) la compréhension de l’impact des causes externes sur les émotions des filles est liée positivement à leur adresse motrice et à la rapidité de leurs déplacements. Ces résultats interrogent sur la spécificité développementale de la motricité globale et de la compréhension des émotions, ainsi que sur celle du développement social en fonction du sexe.
