Abstract
L’auteure propose de poser les assises théoriques de l’esthétique de la proximité, approche qui conçoit l’expérience de contemplation esthétique comme une expérience située et « encorporée ». L’analyse des représentations de femmes grosses peintes par l’artiste Jenny Saville illustrera la manière dont cette approche esthétique permet d’interroger les normes de représentation du corps féminin et des discours qui en découlent. Alors que cette peintre cherche à subvertir les représentations du corps féminin en élargissant le spectre des corps considérés comme beaux et désirables, les réactions critiques devant sa proposition contribuent au contraire à la reproduction de normes étroites et contraignantes.
