Abstract
Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh penolakan masyarakat terhadap rencana pembangunan proyek geothermal atau PLTP di Gunung Talang Kabupaten Solok, Sumatera Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui alasan masyarakat menolak rencana pembangunan proyek PLTP di Gunung Talang.Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Difusi Inovasi dari Everett M. Rogers.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan tipe studi kasus jenis intrinsik dan pemilihan informan dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 13 orang informan. Dalam pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi serta menggunakan triangulasi pengamat dari Neuman. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data dari Miles dan Huberman (reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penolakan masyarakat disebabkan karena tiga alasan. Alasan tersebut, yaitu: (1) faktor pengetahuan, (2) faktor ekonomi, dan (3) faktor sosial budaya.
