Abstract
Les premiers boat people haïtiens arrivent sur les côtes de Floride dès 1972. Ils vont être suivis de dizaines de milliers d’autres Haïtiens fuyant la dictature, la répression politique et la misère. Le scandale de ces naufragés de la diaspora, qui éclate au début des années 1980, va donner naissance en littérature à un certain nombre d’œuvres, non seulement dans la diaspora haïtienne mais aussi dans certains des pays concernés par cette migration. Parmi ces textes sont ici proposés à l’analyse le reportage littéraire de Jean-Claude Charles, écrivain haïtien de France, deux romans, l’un du romancier américain Russell Banks, l’autre de l’écrivain haïtien du Canada, Emile Ollivier, et des nouvelles d’Ana Lydia Vega de Puerto Rico et Edwidge Danticat, haïtienne américaine, ainsi que, très brièvement, le livre pour enfant de Maryse Condé de Guadeloupe.
