Abstract
Naar aanleiding van het besluit van het Europees Parlement tot een totaalverbodvan pulsvisserij heeft het ministerie van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit aan Wageningen Economic Research gevraagd een kort overzicht op te stellen van de belangrijkste economische aspecten van de Nederlandse pulsvisserij. Onderstaand feitenoverzicht is opgesteld op basis van databronnen van de Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) en Wageningen Economic Research. De meeste gegevens hebben betrekking op de situatie per 31december 2016. De pulsvisserij is voor de Nederlandse kottersector van groot economisch belang. Het mogelijke totaalverbod op pulsvisserij heeft daarmee voor de kottersector als totaal, en zeker voor de betreffende visserijbedrijven een sterke economische impact.
