Lorsqu'on considere la facon - singuliere a l'epoque - dont une femme celibataire comme Marie le Jars de Gournay (1565-1645) a cherche a vivre de sa plume, il n'est guere surprenant que son volumineux recueil de « meslanges », dont la demiere version a ete publiee en 1641 sous le titre Les Advis, ou, les Presens de la Demoiselle de Gournay , compte de nombreuses references aux questions d'argent et, de maniere plus generale, a tout ce qui touche le domaine de l'« oeconomie ».
