Abstract
Taylor es un filósofo con una gran pertinencia para las ciencias sociales por sus propuestas teóricas sobre la pluralidad en el contexto mundial de diversidad y de evolución de la sociedad secularizada. Proponemos un análisis para contrastar sus propuestas con los discursos conservadores. Examinamos su contribución para la comprensión de los fenómenos contemporáneos como el de la secularización en las sociedades modernas. Mostramos que Taylor es un filósofo mayor de la tolerancia y pluralidad religiosa, que ha ejercido una reivindicación de los valores éticos. Sus reflexiones sobre el reconocimiento constituyen aportes substanciales para la comprensión de la identidad moderna.
