À partir d’une approche pragmatique et d’un matériau constitué notamment d’entretiens et d’observations avec des professionnels du placement dans un organisme cantonal de l’assurance-invalidité en Suisse, cet article aborde leur prise en compte, dans l’espace de l’entretien avec des assurés atteints dans leur santé, d’éléments non prescrits par le dispositif légal allant au-delà du seul soutien à l’emploi prévu par la mesure de placement. Les éléments mobilisés ont trait d’un côté à des questions sur la vie privée des assurés et, de l’autre, à l’offre d’un accompagnement de type social pour les aider à surmonter les divers problèmes qu’ils peuvent rencontrer au-delà de l’emploi. Les premiers éléments seront examinés à l’aune de l’intrusion dans la vie privée des assurés et des cadres légaux destinés à protéger les données personnelles et le second, en évaluant la pertinence de prévoir une formation en travail social pour les professionnels du placement issus d’autres métiers.
