Abstract
de 2015 los Estados miembros de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) se comprometieron con la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible.Basada en el éxito de los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio (ODM), esta agenda es mucho más ambiciosa, como lo muestran los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), nueve más que los originalmente planteados en 2000.Si bien dentro de los ODM había un objetivo sobre igualdad de género, una de las críticas de los activistas fue que se habían quedado cortos en sus metas para medir el adelanto de las mujeres.Por tal motivo, con los ODS se intentó resarcir este problema y se estableció como Objetivo 5 la "Igualdad de Género y Empoderamiento de las Mujeres", que cuenta con seis metas y tres medios de implementación.Una de las demandas seminales del feminismo desde la década de los años sesenta es la eliminación de la violencia.La meta 5.2 compromete a los Estados miembros a:Eliminar todas las formas de violencia contra todas las mujeres y las niñas en los ámbitos público y privado, incluidas la trata y la explotación sexual y otros tipos de explotación.
