Abstract
Le mouvement des villes équitables apparaît comme une nouvelle forme de certification qui étend les certifications du commerce équitable. Il est cependant plus qu’une simple extension ; il ouvre la possibilité de dépasser le mode de certification standard. La diversité des pratiques nationales et locales implique à la fois des modes d’action et de coordination des acteurs très variables. Les critères établis sur le plan international ne constituent qu’un guide d’action et non une grille de critères à remplir à tout prix pour obtenir un label. La diversité des acteurs renvoie également à une remise en cause, au moins partielle, de l’expertise. Ce mouvement renvoie en fait à une éthique du forum et suppose pour cela de dépasser les injustices épistémiques au cœur du pouvoir de l’expertise.
