Abstract
Enzo Traverso (Gavi, Piemont, 1957) es un historiador italia, que ha conreat la historia intel·lectual de l'Europa del segle XX, aixi com la historia social i cultural de les violencies del mon contemporani, i es conegut pels seus estudis sobre l'Holocaust i el totalitarisme. Despres de viure i treballar a Franca durant mes de vint anys, actualment es catedratic d'humanitats a Cornell University, a l'estat de Nova York. fill d'una familia d'ideologia comunista, despres d'haver estudiat Historia Contemporania a la universitat de Genova, el 1985 s'insta·la a paris, on obte el doctorat a l'EHESS, el 1989, sota la direccio de Michael Lowy. En els anys posteriors treballa a diverses institucions de recerca i formacio, i ensenya a la universitat de picardia,a la universitat Paris-VIII i a l'EHESS. Va ser tambe professor invitat en diverses universitats d'alemanya (Universitat Lliure de Berlin), Belgica (Universitat Lliure de Brussel·les), Italia (Macerata, Venecia), Espanya (Valencia, Autonoma de Barcelona), l'Argentina (La Plata) i Mexic (UNAM; INAH, claustro). Ha participat en col·loquis i ha fet conferencies a molts paisos europeus i llatinoamericans, aixi com als Estats units i el Canada. Es o ha estat membre del comite de redaccio i del consell cientific de diverses revistes franceses i estrangeres, i va ser membre del col·lectiu editorial de la Fabrique. Politicament, va ser membre de la Lliga Comunista Revolucionaria (LCR), fins a la desaparicio d'aquest moviment el 2009 .
