Abstract
L’éthique prend de l’importance sur de nombreux marchés où les entreprises sont en quête de légitimité et doivent répondre à des contraintes environnementales. Sur le marché du commerce équitable, les acteurs doivent respecter des standards sociaux, environnementaux et économiques. Au-delà des normes qui régissent la certification des produits équitables, les approches éthiques trouvent leur place. Pour comprendre l’engagement éthique des acteurs en matière de certification sur le marché du commerce équitable, j’ai réalisé une étude qualitative auprès d’organisations de producteurs sur le marché ivoirien. Cette étude a mené à l’identification d’une éthique de la responsabilité et de la discussion dans l’engagement à la certification. L’engagement éthique des acteurs est surtout lié à l’existence de règles et aux actions sociales de la certification qui profitent aux producteurs.
