Актуальность статьи обусловлена необходимостью развития этики и философии после Освенцима и Холокоста, а также исследований феномена геноцида в украинских социальных науках. Цель статьи состоит в изучении западных рефлексий над проблемой военного насилия и изменениями общественной мора ли как результатом осмысления причин и итогов войны. Новизна исследования состоит в применении новой для отечественных дисциплин методологии, а также в анализе значительного количества материалов из области этики и философии после Освенцима, которые до настоящего времени малоизвестны в Украине. В выводах обосновываются концепция “презумпции вины” как характерной черты поствоенного поколения; наличие “культурной травмы” в глубинах советского бессознательного как результат недостаточной артикулированности боли разных жертв войны в официальной культуре; формирование теории Другого под влиянием западноевропейских рефлексий над проблемой военного насилия.
