Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Five years after getting BioVectra in its acquisition of the drugmaker Questcor, Mallinckrodt is selling the Canadian drug services company to the investment firm H.I.G. Capital for $250 million. The deal was announced a day after Mallinckrodt settled an Ohio opioid addiction case, while others are scheduled to go to trial next month. BioVectra, headquartered in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, began in 1970 as a manufacturer of clinical reagents. Questcor bought it in 2013 for $50 million, and Mallinckrodt acquired Questcor the following year. BioVectra supplies the active pharmaceutical ingredient in Questcor’s H.P. Acthar Gel, a topical hormone treatment for autoimmune diseases. In recent years, BioVectra has expanded a fledgling microbial fermentation business with the purchase of a factory in Windsor, Nova Scotia. It has invested over $60 million in the site and aims to grow biologics to at least 25% of its business. The firm reported sales of $56

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
