ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang analisis dimensionalitas data magnetotelurik pada jalur Sesar Sumatera Segmen Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan arah strike Sesar Sumatera Segmen Aceh dengan cara mengukur nilai resistivitas semu dan fase bawah permukaan dan kemudian dilakukan analisis dimensionalitas data magnetotelurik tersebut. Alat yang digunakan adalah MTU-5A buatan Phoenix Geophysics,. Canada, dengan range frekuensi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 0.86-320 Hz. Pengukuran magnetotelurik dibuat dengan 2 lintasan yang memotong Sesar Sumatera dengan jarak antar stasiun pengukuran bervariasi. Lintasan C berawal dari Kabupaten Aceh Jaya dan berakhir di Kabupaten Pidie. Sedangkan, lintasan D berawal dari Kabupaten Aceh Jaya dan berakhir di Kabupaten Bireun, Provinsi Aceh. Data magnetotelurik dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode Zhang et al. (1989). Berdasarkan analisis dimensionalitas data magnetotelurik yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan Swift’s skew rata-rata kurang dari 0.1, dimana biasanya keseluruhan struktur lokal dan regional, dapat dipandang sebagai 1D atau 2D jika Swift’s skew kurang dari 0.1, sedangkan nilai lebih dari 0.1 dianggap indikasi 3D atau noise. Selanjutnya, strike rata-rata memiliki sudut 0o atau 90o. Hasil inversi model 2D data magnetotelurik menunjukkan bagian resistivitas yang kontras terdapat diantara titik D4 dan D5 yang menunjukkan konsisten dengan struktur geologi patahan. Kata Kunci: Patahan, magnetotelurik, dimensionalitas, model 2D. ABSTRACT Dimensionality of magnetotelluric transfer function have been analyzed crossing the Sumatran Fault System at Aceh segment. This research is aimed to determine strike direction of the fault system using magnetotelluric transfer function data. We used Phoenix Geophysics MTU-5A equipment in range frequency 0.86-320 Hz for data measurement. Data collection was performed along two profiles with spacing between stations vary from 7 to 80 Km. The first profile is 94,5 Km started from Aceh Jaya District and ended at Pidie District. The second profile is 16,5 Km started from Aceh Jaya District and ended at Bireun District. The data were analyzed by using Zhang et al. (1989) method to calculate Swift's skew and strike direction. Based on the calculation, we found that the Swift's skew values are generally less than 0.1, which is usually the overall structure of local and regional that can be viewed as a 1D or 2D, while the values above 0.1 are considered as 3D effects or noises. Furthermore, the average strike has 0o or 90o angle. The data shown that the magnetotelluric transfer functions strike of both profiles are in agreement with the geological structure of the fault system. In other to image the 2D resistivity model of the area, we have inverted the magnetotelluric data using MT2DinvMatlab (Lee et al., 2009). The model clearly show position and depth of the fault lines along the profiles. Keywords: Fault, magnetotelluric, dimensionality, 2D models.
