Abstract
Placée sous le signe de la dualité, l’oeuvre poétique de Desbiens montre sous divers angles un sujet déchiré, à l’écart de lui-même et des personnes qui l’entourent. L’un des aspects de cette dualité repose sur l’oralité, qui vient souligner l’importance accordée à la voix, mais aussi à l’écoute. Dans cet article, l’auteur analyse différentes postures qu’empruntent les voix — celles du sujet, mais aussi celles des autres — afin de montrer en quoi elles établissent un mode d’écoute qui révèle un rapport déterminant à la communauté. Que ce soit par la présence de la chanson populaire, du discours direct ou encore de dialogues, la voix canalise des tensions et des différences auxquelles Desbiens souhaite qu’on tende l’oreille.
