Abstract
Peu d’études processuelles ont montré comment l’entreprise transforme l’information en véritables opportunités. Ainsi, la construction d’un avantage concurrentiel s’appuie notamment sur la capacité de l’entreprise à absorber l’information nouvelle. En observant le dialogue avec les parties prenantes mis en oeuvre par une multinationale dans un pays émergent pour obtenir le droit à opérer, cet article met en lumière les processus critiques de la capacité d’absorption. Cependant, le cas étudié montre aussi que le temps des processus n’est pas celui des parties prenantes externes. Cette différence de temporalité représente un frein à la transformation de la capacité d’absorption potentielle en capacité d’absorption réelle et donc à la construction d’un avantage concurrentiel.
