Abstract
L’objectif de cette contribution est double : donner un aperçu du contexte sociolinguistique dans lequel la francophonie manitobaine évolue actuellement et décrire certains traits saillants des variétés de français parlé au Manitoba par l’exploitation de corpus de langue. La situation de la communauté francophone du Manitoba est généralement qualifiée de « minoritaire ». Nous distinguons les niveaux macro et microlinguistiques pour examiner la question de la minorisation du français et pour contextualiser le fait français dans la province. Les variétés de français du Manitoba sont essentiellement issues du français laurentien. Afin d’illustrer certaines de leurs particularités, nous présentons les caractéristiques de trois corpus de français collectés depuis une vingtaine d’années dans la province, ainsi qu’une sélection de traits linguistiques que ces corpus permettent de décrire.
