Organic petrology of kerogen, hydrocarbon fluid inclusions, and pyrobitumen in Middle to Upper Devonian strata, west-central Alberta (TP 60-62; R4W6)
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This CD contains microscopic data on the analyses of Three samples: (i) a source rock sample from the Upper Devonian Duvernay Formation at 15-34-62-4W6 (depth: 4477-4495m) for thermal maturity assessment, (ii) a pyrobitumen enriched sample from the Middle Devonian Beaverhill Lake Group at 15-34-62-4W6 (4564m depth) for evaluation of origin, and; (iii) a fracture-filling coarse grained calcite from the Wabamun at 1-36-60-3W6 (4210m depth), for aqueous and hydrocarbon fluid inclusion analysis. Based on the reflectance in oil of primary solid bitumen, and visible light region fluorescence and fluorescence alteration properties of acritarchs and unicellular alginite, the thermal maturity level of the Duvernay Formation sample is on the order of 1.5 to 1.6 %Ro (mean %Ro = 1.55). Solid carbon within the Beaverhill Lake sample is characterized by a predominance of anisotropic pyrobitumen, which is interpreted to be derived from the thermal cracking of a pre-existing liquid hydrocarbon phase. Some of the optical microtextures, although not widespread, indicate that an NSO-enriched fraction, CO2 and sulphur-enriched compounds interacted with the pyrobitumen. Fluid inclusion analysis of Wabamun calcite from Chevron Poco Resthaven 01-36-60-3W6 indicates three types of fluid inclusion assemblages (FIA): i.e. 2-phase aqueous FIA, 1-phase CH4 rich FIA and 1- and 2-phase hydrocarbon FIA. The 2 phase aqueous inclusions yield Th values ranging from 163 to 198 oC. Te value of 52 oC were recorded, indicating a system of NaCl-CaCl2-H2O. Tm values between 10.0 and -11.0 suggest a salinity of 13.9-15.0 (wt.% NaCl eq.). The fracture-fill coarse-grained calcite from the Wabamum Formation, contains, in places, relatively high concentrations of 2 phase, blue-fluorescing hydrocarbon fluid inclusions. Visible light region microspectrometry conducted on these hydrocarbon inclusions (Lmax = 430 nm, Q = 0.03 to 0.07) indicates they contain liquids with an estimated °API of ~50 to 55.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
