Abstract
Geological Survey Of Canada Open File 5793 releases to the public the formerly private database, Palynodata. This database indexes occurrences of 122,422 species of palynomorphs from 22,152 documents of global palynological literature. This database has been compiled since 1974 by Palynodata Inc., a consortium of oil and gas companies and scientific institutions, building on the files of Kremp Palynological Computer Research Project. Previously, access to the database was restricted to subscribers supporting the Palynodata consortium. Palynodata Inc. has dissolved and the copyright to the database was transfered to Canada in 2007. The last literature entered into the Palynodata database was in 2006. The Geological Survey of Canada will not update the literature in the database.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.
