Abstract
En Bolivia, las luchas indígenas por la autodeterminación adoptaron un lenguaje y normativa específicos con la nueva Constitución en 2009, bajo el concepto de «autonomía indígena originario campesina». Este artículo analiza la normativa y los procesos recientes de acceso a la autonomía por parte de diferentes pueblos indígenas. Las relaciones que se tejen entre pueblos indígenas y Estado constituyen una dinámica que calificamos de dialéctica: por un lado, el necesario reconocimiento del derecho a la autodeterminación y, por otro lado, el control constante por parte de la burocracia estatal, sobre las formas y el contenido de dicha autonomía. Basado en entrevistas realizadas en los departamentos de Cochabamba, Oruro y La Paz, el artículo presenta la visión crítica de unos actores indígenas del proceso de autonomización, resaltando tanto los avances como los obstáculos y las limitaciones del cambio político.
