Abstract
Cet article traite des besoins et des attentes des aînés maltraités. Les résultats présentés sont issus d’une vaste recherche sur l’action des organismes à but non lucratif (OBNL) dans la lutte contre la maltraitance matérielle et financière envers les aînés. Prenant appui sur le cadre théorique de la sociologie de l’expérience, les résultats portent sur l’analyse de 11 entrevues individuelles semi-dirigées réalisées auprès d’aînés accompagnés par des OBNL pour une situation de maltraitance. Après avoir présenté les motifs pour lesquels les aînés reçoivent un accompagnement d’un OBNL, cet article fait état de leurs besoins d’accompagnement et de leurs attentes quant aux compétences attendues des personnes accompagnatrices.
