Abstract
Si Napoléon parle tout au long de sa correspondance de sa lutte contre les prêtres réfractaires, une question se pose : comment ont réagi les membres supérieurs de l’Épiscopat français et déjà en place avant la Révolution après l’établissement du Concordat ? Cette étude de Xavier Maréchaux, avec les difficultés que comporte l’établissement d’un corpus d’individus aux parcours très différents (mais parfois… aux noms similaires !), vise à étudier plus systématiquement les positions de cette vingtaine de prélats face au Premier Consul puis à l’Empereur.
