Motifs d'engagement et abandons dans les MOOCS : enquête auprès de participants de trois MOOCs québécois

Abstract
Ce mémoire traite de l'engagement dans le contexte des Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) et vise à comprendre les raisons pour lesquelles des participants s'engagent et persistent ou abandonnent dans une telle formation. La démarche méthodologique adoptée dans cette recherche repose principalement sur l'analyse de verbatims de 31 participants issus de trois MOOCs québécois différents : Outil d'aide à la scénarisation, Jouer pour apprendre en petite enfance et Management. Afin de contraster certaines données présentes dans les verbatims, nous utilisons également quelques items issus de questionnaires auxquels ces mêmes participants ont répondu. Les résultats montrent que certains motifs d'engagement prédominent et que la plupart des participants atteignent leurs objectifs d'apprentissages, montrant une différence entre le taux de complétion selon l'achèvement du cours et selon l'atteinte des objectifs d'apprentissage. Finalement, nous relevons les barrières en jeu pour les quelques participants qui n'atteignent pas leurs objectifs.
